Handle MPF for Others

You are able to help your clients and family members to prepare MPF applications online by accessing the eMPF Assistant Portal. For example, enrol in an MPF account, consolidate personal accounts, transfer of benefits under Employee Choice Arrangement, transfer of tax deductible voluntary contributions for a scheme member, and enrol in an MPF scheme for an employer. 

How Does it Operate
You can assist a scheme member or an employer to fill in and submit the e-form or upload documents to the eMPF Platform via the eMPF Assistant Portal. The scheme member or employer will then be able to review, verify and submit the e-form/documents on the eMPF Platform. It saves much time in document exchange!

Note: Any persons, not limited to MPF intermediaries, who wish to assist scheme members or employers in handling the specified MPF administrative requests, can use the eMPF Assistant Portal.  The person is required to provide his/her personal information, applicant’s eMPF ID and HKID No. (for scheme members) / registration number (for employers) on the e-form. 

The example below outlines how Eric, an MPF intermediary, makes use of the eMPF Assistant Portal to handle MPF applications for his clients.

However, Eric always encounters the challenges below and spends a lot of time in dealing with paper administrative works, which makes him unable to focus on providing professional investment advice to clients.

  • Most of the MPF scheme administrative processes rely on paper form submission. It’s time-consuming and tedious to pre-fill the large number of paper forms for clients on enrolment and MPF transfer.
  • It’s also common that clients may submit forms with missing information or incorrect signatures. Eric needs to re-collect paper forms from clients frequently.
Lack of unified MPF administrative processes
  • Currently, different trustees have different administrative processes and forms, account management is complicated and not unified.
  • Eric needs to follow up with different trustees separately when clients request to consolidate personal accounts, or transfer MPF from one scheme to another. There’s no centralized channel for these processes.
Eric can now access the “eMPF Assistant Portal” for centralized management of clients’ MPF matters, including enrolment and MPF transfer. There’s no need to submit any paper forms from now on!
