MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau published her blog post today (26 July), in which she mentioned that there had been isolated cases of abuse related to early withdrawal of MPF. These abuses include submitting applications for early withdrawal of MPF by making false declarations or other unlawful means.

MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau published her blog post today (28 June), highlighting that the eMPF Platform (eMPF) is one of Hong Kong’s most utilized digital platforms, with the highest number of users and the largest volume of monthly administration instructions processed.

The eMPF Platform Company Limited (eMPF Company) expressed grave concern over crime syndicates suspected of inducing MPF scheme members to use forged medical certificates to illegally apply for early MPF withdrawal on the grounds of terminal illness or total incapacity. eMPF Company will fully collaborate with the Police in its enforcement actions and calls on MPF scheme members to comply with the law.

MPFA has recently identified phishing emails (see screenshots below) originating from a fraudulent email address: “emf[.]sungwa-jobskop[.]com@shared1[.]ccsend[.]com”. These emails falsely claim to be issued by the eMPFTM Platform (eMPF). The emails claim to “offer refunds of administration fees” to lure recipients to click a hyperlink that leads to a fraudulent website (https[:]//jobskop[.]com/HK EMP/), with the intention of deceiving the public into providing their personal information.

The eMPF Platform (eMPF) successfully onboarded all MPF schemes end of last month. To publicize eMPF, the eMPF Platform Company (eMPF Company) launched a two-day eMPF Carnival starting today (9 May) at a shopping mall in Diamond Hill, featuring interactive games, information booths, and sharing and performance by popular singers and artistes. Titled “The Future is in Your Hands”, the eMPF Carnival aims to promote among MPF scheme members their registration with and use of eMPF, a one-stop electronic platform for managing MPF to help shape their future.

MPFA noted recently that there have been phishing emails originating from noreply@hkmpf.com, falsely claiming to be from MPFA and/or eMPF Platform Company Limited (eMPF Company). Those emails claimed that there are suspicious logins and abnormal activities in the eMPF Platform (eMPF) accounts of the recipients, attempting to lure them into clicking on hyperlinks embedded in the emails that direct them to fraudulent websites.
