MPFA Chairman’s Blog - eMPF™ launches one-stop MPF Account Information Enquiry Service

Publish Date: 07/10/2026

MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau published her blog post today (4 October), announcing that the eMPF Platform (eMPF) will launch a new one-stop “MPF Account Information Enquiry Service” tomorrow (5 October). MPF scheme members, authorized persons, personal representatives and persons entitled in priority to the administration of the estate of a deceased scheme member may submit enquiry applications for MPF account information, including the names of trustees and schemes, account numbers and balances.

In her blog post, Mrs Lau noted that employees who have changed job several times may have forgotten which MPF schemes they have accounts with. Previously, MPFA offered the “e-Enquiry of Personal Account” (ePA) service and related offline forms, which enabled scheme members to check the number of personal accounts under their name as well as the name(s) and contact details of the relevant trustee(s). However, detailed information of account numbers and balances were not included, requiring scheme members to contact individual trustees to obtain further account details.

Since eMPF became fully operational in April this year, it has transformed the previously decentralized mode of operation. Scheme members can now register with, and log in to, eMPF to view information about all their MPF accounts, enabling them to check and manage their accounts anytime, anywhere.

Some scheme members may, for various reasons, be unable to handle their MPF matters by themselves. There are also some family members who may need to deal with the MPF benefits of deceased scheme members. To help these individuals handle such matters more conveniently, the new “MPF Account Information Enquiry Service” to be launched by eMPF tomorrow will provide them with a one-stop channel for submitting enquiry applications. They will no longer need to contact individual trustees to obtain details of the relevant accounts, thereby saving a significant amount of time for users. Through this new service, users will be able to access information including the names of MPF trustees and schemes as well as account numbers and balances.

When submitting an enquiry application, an authorized person must submit an authorization form signed by the scheme member, together with identification documents. eMPF will send an acknowledgement of receipt to the email address of the scheme member or via short message service (SMS) to his/her mobile phone number to confirm receipt of the enquiry application. It will also check whether the scheme member’s signature on the application form matches the record kept by eMPF. eMPF will provide the relevant account information only after verification of the scheme member's identity and authorization.

Applications submitted by a personal representative must be accompanied by legal documents, such as a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration. As for a person entitled in priority to the administration of the estate of a deceased scheme member, documents proving the relationship to the deceased scheme member must be submitted.

Mrs Lau said that eMPF makes MPF management more convenient and improves overall efficiency through centralization and digitalization, and that its non-profit operating model further reduces administration costs. She called on scheme members who have yet to register with eMPF to do so as soon as possible, so that they can experience first-hand the convenience of managing their MPF on a one-stop platform.
